G E N E R A L    I N F O R M A T I O N

  • Proposals should be submitted by individuals who are willing to make a firm commitment to register (registration fee $250 including Thursday Continental Breakfast, Lunch, Friday Breakfast Buffet) and the ability to attend other sessions during the convention
  • Please note MBEA is a non-profit organization and cannot pay an honorarium or expenses for anyone presenting at the annual convention
  • Sessions will be scheduled throughout the Annual Convention, on Thursday, November 11 and Friday morning, November 12, 2021. Presenters should plan to present either day as dictated by facility usage, session balancing, etc., or by personal request for a certain day and time
  • Sessions range from 20-35 participants
  • Persons presenting at MBEA conventions are expected to use material and language that does not discriminate based on gender, race, color, ethnicity, religion, physical ability, and/or sexual orientation
  • Please email the proposal page only in a word document
  • Submissions will be acknowledged with a return e-mail
  • Presentation Title and Description: Please type or clearly print the title and description of your session
  • The title and description should accurately reflect the content, activities, and anticipated outcomes of your session
  • We reserve the right to edit titles and descriptions. If acronyms are used, please indicate what they represent
  • Format–Choose the format which best fits your presentation style: lecture, panel, roundtable or hands-on
  • Completed proposals should be submitted online or in a word/pdf document on or before September 7, 2021
  • As we plan to make the presentations available on our website after the conference, please indicate if you will be willing to share your presentation so that other educators can benefit from your expertise.

W R I T I N G   Y O U R   P R O P O S A L

  • Be sure your title precisely describes the session content
  • Avoid abbreviations and acronyms that do not clearly explain the session’s content
  • Describe exactly what will occur during the session
  • Proposals not meeting all requirements may not be reviewed
  • The review committee reserves the right to modify time limit and format as appropriate
  • Please identify the strand(s) addressed by your presentation proposal
  • Should be required to hold a virtual event because of COVID-19, please indicate if you will still be willing to present
